Image::Reference::Audit

Audit multi-reference image briefs for missing roles and conflicting constraints.

Image::Reference::Audit

Image::Reference::Audit is a small dependency-free Raku module for checking multi-reference image briefs before generation. It keeps the subject, aspect ratio, reference roles, and constraints in named fields so a workflow can detect missing information without parsing an unstructured prompt.

Why reference roles matter

A folder of images does not explain how each file should influence the result. One image may anchor the product, another may define composition, and a third may provide only a palette. Assigning those roles explicitly reduces ambiguity and makes conflicting instructions visible before a draft is generated.

The module performs deterministic checks for:

  • a meaningful subject description;

  • a specified aspect ratio;

  • at least one reference with an assigned role;

  • empty role labels that would otherwise pass unnoticed.

Example

use Image::Reference::Audit;

my $audit = Image::Reference::Audit.new(
    subject => 'A product bottle on a clean studio surface',
    aspect-ratio => '4:5',
    reference-roles => {
        product => 'subject anchor',
        sketch => 'layout guide',
        moodboard => 'palette reference'
    },
    constraints => {
        label => 'preserve exact wording',
        background => 'neutral gray'
    }
);

say $audit.issues;
say $audit.summary;

The output can be stored with a creative request, compared across revisions, or passed to a separate renderer only after is-valid returns true.

Workflow context

The checks are deliberately tool-independent. They help teams review multi-reference work for product images, posters, layouts, and campaign variants without claiming that validation guarantees a particular visual result. A browser workspace such as Muse Image can then be used for prompt-led creation and reference-based editing after the brief has been reviewed.

Review current product information before relying on changing capabilities, and treat generated outputs as drafts that still require visual inspection.
